More and more homeowners are choosing cordless options when they get blinds or shades for their home for three reasons: appearance, convenience, and safety. Zebra shades are already striking, but when you eliminate the lift cord, our Cordless Zebra Light-Filtering Shades can take on an even more standout appearance due to their clean, minimalist design and built-in look.
STEP 1: Measure the inside width the top of the window opening (where you will mount the shade). We will make the necessary deductions (approx. 1/4").
STEP 2: Measure the height at 3 locations - the left side, middle and right side. Measure the height at 3 locations - the left side, middle and right side. Subtract 3/8" from the shortest height measurement. Use this as your ordering height. The shade will be 3/8" longer than the ordered height when the shade is fully lowered and the vanes are closed.
NOTE: Solar shade fabrics will be approximately 1 1/8" narrower than your ordering width to allow for brackets. If concerned over resulting light gaps, please order outside mount. Shades ordered wider than the actual window opening will not fit inside the window.
STEP 1: Measure the width of the area you wish to cover. If space allows we recommend adding 2-3" (1 to 1 1/2" each side) to this measurement to help eliminate light seepage. This is your ordering width. The factory will make the bracket to bracket width at the top of your shade to the ordered width. The fabric will be approximately 1-1/8" narrower than the ordered width.
STEP 2: Measure the height of the area you wish to cover. This is your ordering height. Be sure to take into account the 2" flat mounting surface needed when measuring the area you want to cover with your shade. The factory will make your shade (including the cassette valance) to the height ordered. Generally 3" - 4" added to the height of your opening (including molding or framework you wish to cover) will allow you room to mount above the window frame.
NOTE: Solar shade fabrics will be approximately 1-1/8" narrower than your ordering width to allow for brackets. If you need the fabric of your shade to cover a specific width (e.g. for mounting a shade on a door) add at least 1-1/4" inches to your ordered width to make sure you fabric is wide enough to cover your window opening.
