Ordering Tips
- Braided polyester loop cord
- OPTIONS (no upcharge):
- Optional Dust Cover
- Attaches to the top of the headrail
- Protects the fabric and internal operating mechanisms from dust,
dirt and other contaminants
- Considerations:
- Inside Mount: Not available with
inside mounted shades
- Outside Mount: Entire cover is used
- Optional Back Cover (click to view)
- Used with inside mounts when you want to conceal the open rear
side of the headrail for a more pleasing exterior look.
- The back cover and its brackets add 1/4" additional space to
mounting depth. Be sure to consider this in your calculations
if you plan to request this.
- Adjacent Shadings:
- To span wide window openings, Washington Sheer Horizontals may be
installed adjacently, so their headrails but together. The gap
between the fabric panels of the adjacent shadings varies according to
the control placement as follows:
- Right/Right controls 3/4" center gap
- Left/Left controls 3/4" center gap
- Right/Left controls 1 1/32" center gap
- Left/Right controls 1/2" center gap
- Washington Sheer Horizontal shadings are not recommended for bay
windows or but-and-pass applications.
- Vane Operation
- Closure - When the vanes of a Washington Sheer Horizontal shading are
closed, they overlap each other, blocking the view. However, the
vanes do not contact each other along the full length of the shading;
they do not form a perfect seal against light leakage. This is
most visible toward the bottom of the shading.
- Vane closure is measured as the distance between the front and rear
fabric facings 6" up from the lowest point of the bottom rail, with
the shading fully lowered and the vanes closed.
- The vane closure for Washington Sheer Horizontal shadings is 5/8"
for shadings under 96" in height and 7/8" for shadings over
96" in height.
- Factory deductions (the factory will deduct the following in
production):
- Inside mount:
- Headrail: - 3/16 from ordered width
- Fabric: - 1" from ordered width (to accomodate lift
cording)
