• Style - Roman shades are offered in two distinct styles:

  Teardrop Style		Flat Style

  • Flat - The fabric rolls flat and has a traditional look.
    
  • Teardrop/Hobbled - The fabric bunches together to create a teardrop effect. This style is a more contemporary look and feel.

• A "Top Down Bottom Up” feature enables you to raise your blind from the bottom, and lower the shade from the top simultaneously to allow light in from the outside while maintaining privacy and eliminating glare on computer or television screens. 
  
  
• Continuous cord loop feature maintains the cord at the same length regardless of shade position and is recommended for use around young children.

 

 

What is the privacy rating? [ Top ]

Roman shades are made of specific fabrics with a broad range of privacy control. Different manufacturers use different types of ranges to indicate their privacy level.

• Hunter Douglas uses a 0-5 rating system. 0 is no privacy and 5 is maximum privacy.
  
• Comfortex, Graber and Bali use a low, medium and high privacy rating system.
  
  • Low - These fabrics lend a light, airy covering to windows, screening bright light while allowing you to still enjoy the view.
  • Medium - These fabrics screen bright sunlight to varying degrees and will protect your furnishings from the damaging effects of sunlight. Deep colored fabrics provide some room darkening, while lighter colors soften and diffuse light. These fabrics provide a moderate degree of privacy at night, although silhouettes of objects and movement within a lighted room will be visible to some extent.
  • High - These fabrics provide complete privacy both day and night. Even light colored fabrics provide excellent room darkening and protect furnishings from damaging sunlight.
