Honeycomb Shade Benefits

Honeycomb shades, also called Cellular Blinds or honeycomb blinds, are named for the empty pockets of air that run parallel to their seams. In general, honeycomb shades resemble traditional pleated shades when viewed from the room. Unlike pleated shades, however, these shades are composed of at least two sheets of fabric; one facing the room and the other facing the outdoors. Honeycomb fabrics come in a variety of opacities and colors, giving you flexibility over the color used to accent your room.

The layers of honeycomb fabric are joined together so that when your shades are pulled down, pockets of air are created to help insulate the room. The “cells” in these blinds protect your room from heat loss in the winter and heat absorption in the summer. They also provide a barrier against both outside and inside noise.
