I am extremely pleased with my new solar shade. I had looked at similar products at our local home improvement warehouse for about 3 times the price, so I turned to the internet and discovered 'YourBlinds'. I found a wide variety of these types of shades and decided on this one because it had the most openness. I wanted this for my sliding patio door, which already has window treatments accenting it, but nothing to actually cover the window. I wanted something simple that would not take away from or interfere with what I already have there, so I ordered the solar shade in pearl white. The ability to open and close it easily was also of great importance to me.I get sun on this window all day, so I purchased this to help block out some of the heat and provide some privacy during the day, while still allowing an unobstructed view of my door and yard from inside, which this does perfectly.Everything seems to be made well and the shade operates easily. It's slightly harder to raise than to lower, which I imagine has to do with the weight of the fabric itself. I was very impressed with how quickly it raises and lowers in proportion to how much you actually have to pull the chain. I was thinking I'd be pulling and pulling, but it seems to be geared so that very little pulling goes a long way.The shade was very easy to install and directions were clear, if needed. It was so simple I did not even need to read them. The brackets matched the color of my shade (white). I don't know if that's merely a coincidence or not. However, it would not matter that much because they also give you end caps that completely cover the brackets, if you're outside mounting. The bead chain also matched the color of the shade (again, unsure if that's a coincidence since I ordered white.)Beyond the shade itself I can say from my experience that YourBlinds provided me with a level of personal service rarely seen these days. I had several questions and concerns, which they handled with great attention to detail and provided personal attention to my order which made me feel as though my one little shade order was as important to them as if I had ordered 100 of them.[...] In summary, I'm very pleased with my purchase and experience. We are already planning some additional purchases in other colors. The fact that we can order fabric samples for free is a huge plus, as I would never order a color (other than white) without being able to match it to our décor.

We recently upgraded our family room and kitchen with new windows. I did not want to hide my windows behind curtains or blinds. The solar open-weave design is perfect - it blocks out the sun, yet I can still see my windows!

If you follow the websites directions for measuring, the blinds should fit perfectly. I was really impressed with the quality. I needed the blinds for a very small front room that use to get very hot as 1 window faces West and also a small 1/2 bathroom which also has a window facing West. The rooms would heat up so bad no one wanted to go there. Our new Solar Shades completely solved the problem. I'm guessing at least 15 degrees cooler! Outside they look opaque without looking reflective or odd. The only 2 things I didn't like were the mounting brackets are silver and give an unfinished look at the top. Also the cord holder is not easy to install and is white which with dark colored blinds looks mismatched. But overall, I am very pleasantly surprised by the product and would definitely order from this company again.

I've never bought a shade like this before, but since it does the job of keeping out the harmful rays and heat, I certainly will add it to other windows that require this type of sun blockage. I'm so happy that I did not lose the light.
