I bought the cordless top-down bottom-up shades in merlot, to cover a set of French doors in an East facing bedroom. I'm happy with the operation of the top-down bottom up feature, and am especially happy there are no cords to deal with. I've noticed there is more tension when pulling the top down (as opposed to pushing it back up), and there is more tension in pushing the bottom down(as opposed to pulling it up). I believe that tension (meaning it takes more effort) is there to make sure the shades stay in place at the spot you want to leave them, so I'm good with that. Also, there is no gap at the top when the top is pulled all the way up. The room darkening feature does the job very well. There is a little light that comes in from the sides of the blinds if the sun is very bright, because the doors necessitated an outside mount and honeycombs/pleats do not lie completely flat against the door, so there is really no way to avoid that unless you put up curtains. I love the merlot color, which adds a nice pop of color in the room, and the texture of the material is much nicer than the Hunter Douglas blackout blinds the previous owners had installed which I was replacing. The headrail matches the blind color perfectly and is neat and trim. They were very easy to install. I have only had them for a few weeks, but I have not noticed them accumulating dust or anything even thought the doors are open frequently. [...]I would definitely buy these again.

All I have to say is WOW. The quality of the swatches alone sold me on these shades. The fabric is firm, durable, crisp and textured. I can't believe I never bought Levolor before!!
