Purchased for thermal insulation, blocking drafts, blocking UV and direct sunlight, and containing interior light (when dark outside). All goals achieved. Nearly through my second winter, and very pleased Only regret: not spending the extra $$ for TDBU, when I want to see blue sky and still have bedroom privacy.

I have been living with a roll up shade for 15 years. At over 8' long, it was cumbersome at best. The new blind seals out all the drafts almost completely. The color (both inside the room, and on the street side) work very well
I like the magnetic sides that remove for window cleaning
