Vertical Blinds Benefits

Vertical blinds offer the perfect light and privacy option for large, wide windows and sliding glass doors like those leading to patios. In general, vertical blinds come in six vane types: fabric, PVC, faux wood, wood, aluminum and alternative energy saving materials.

Fabric Vertical Blinds
Vertical blinds with fabric vanes are the most common. Fabric vanes come in a variety of light control from sheer light filtering to room darkening with a groover insert. Simple fabric vanes are flexible, durable, and weighted at the bottom to maintain function and shape while still providing a wide range of light diffusing properties. When closed, light filtering fabric verticals diffuse incoming sunlight, providing you with soft natural light and reducing incoming ultraviolet light. These verticals also offer the soft elegance of fabric blinds that match any décor. Fabric verticals are quiet when traversed and provide an insulating barrier for wide windows.

Vinyl Vertical Blinds
Traditional vinyl and aluminum vertical blinds have vanes that are opaque in nature and will always provide ideal room darkening wherever they are installed. Although these are usually the least expensive verticals on the market, they create the most noise when being adjusted and typically do not wear as well as fabric vanes because the holes at the top of the vertical vane tend to tear if the vane is twisted. Vinyl, aluminum, and wood verticals come in a wide array of color and texture options to suit your décor.

Vertical Blinds Valance Options
Many vertical blinds manufacturers make valances that hide the headrail to which the vanes are attached. These simple valances help hide the top of the vanes while providing a decorative touch to your window treatments. Not all come with a decorative valance automatically. If you want a valance, be sure to check that one is included. Most times decorative valances are optional and a small upcharge to your standard verticals.
